Dale Weiler, Sculptor

“I describe myself as a sculptor of stone. I chose this medium because of the “feel of the stone” and the technical challenge of working with one of the most demanding and unforgiving medium of all art forms.

The thought of creating movement, power, fluidity and suppleness from stone constantly drives me to take on increasingly challenging projects. Many of my pieces (often taking up to 6 months to complete) defy the fact they are sculpted from stone.”

We hope you enjoy this short (4 minute) video produced by Windstream for their “Locally Crafted” series in which they highlight various artists around the country. Dale was profiled shortly after we met and most of the footage is shot at Pearsons Falls and in his old studio.
