Stone sculpting is considered one of the most challenging and physically demanding of all art mediums. Requiring the use of extremely hazardous, heavy duty equipment along with arduous back-breaking work, it can take several months to complete a single piece. It also entails the subtractive process of removing unwanted material in order to attain the desired stone image making the work all the more demanding. Once stone is removed, it cannot be put back.
